This patient had a silicone implant placed by another doctor. This was an L shaped implant. These implants are not good for the skin in her tip. Her old implant was removed which was thinning her skin and replaced with a smaller implant, and the tip was reduced. The implant that was used to replace the old one was one that sits only on the dorsum. In the tip it is always best to use cartilage.
